Lepper Library announces several upcoming events

LISBON – Lepper Library will host the following upcoming events:

Geology & Fossil Program with Guest Instructor Jason Leggett

Monday, July 13: 4-5 p.m.

This program is geared toward elementary and junior high aged children. Leggett will provide some samples that he has found around Lisbon and share his collection in the exhibit case. Registration is required.

Art Class with Jacob Ward

Wednesday, July 15: 2 p.m.

Teens can bring their bestie and make diamond art magnets together. Make a CATT BUTT and/or a MANDALA magnet. Registration required.

Dinosaur Hunter Training

Thursday, July 16: 11 a.m.

Register for this experience of learning how to be a Dinosaur Hunter and search around the library for evidence of dinosaurs.

Dino Themed Sensory Hour

Saturday, July 18: 10-11 a.m.

A quiet space to manipulate dinosaur cookie cutters in Kinetic Sand & Playdough, along with other sensory activities.

Bingo & Trivia with Fire Chief Mark Hall

Wednesday, July 15: 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Best of both worlds: Bingo & History Trivia. Call and reserve a spot.

Museum of the Ceramics Program featuring Megan Coil, director of The Museum of Ceramics

Monday, July 20: 5 p.m.

Take a moment to sit and listen as Coil shares the fascinating history of ceramics in East Liverpool and the pottery industry in the area.

“Ask A Master Gardener”

Tuesdays, July 21 and Aug. 18: 9 a.m. to noon

The OSU team of experts are back so be sure to bring gardening questions, plants or samples.

146th Roller Reunion scheduled for July 26

The 146th Roller Reunion will be held on Sunday, July 26 at the Green Township Building, 12184 Lisbon Road, Salem (Greenford). Lunch will begin at 1 p.m.; bring covered dish, if possible. All Roller relatives are invited and encouraged to attend. The Roller family are descendants of Jacob and Mary (Hammar) Roller, who emigrated from Wurttemberg, Germany in the mid-1700s, settling in York County, Pennsylvania. Four of the couple’s sons – John, Balser, Michael and Caleb – eventually traveled west and settled in Mahoning and Columbiana counties and are buried in Washingtonville, on land which they donated to the village for church and cemetery purposes.
