The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce held its Business After Hours and celebrated the one-year anniversary of Home Instead in Salem at Courtyard Square Wednesday. The event featured healthcare and senior resources from several local providers including: Brown Funeral Home, Expand Health at Home, Myers Family Insurance, Centers for Hearing Care, Financial Planning Solutions, Shepherd of the Valley, Communicare, Harmony Hospice, and Summit Federal Credit Union. The event also featured raffle prizes, refreshments, free ice cream from Totally 80s Ice Cream, and information about Home Instead’s new exclusive fall prevention system and care plus program. Home Instead provides compassionate, dignified home healthcare services tailored to meet any client’s needs and help them remain in their home even when they need 24/7 care or hospice care. Home Instead is a registered veteran’s care provider with free care services available to qualifying veterans through the Veteran’s Administration and its caregivers are always extensively vetted with background checks, drug testing, and hands-on training as part of their interview process.

Shown is Home Instead’s exclusive new fall prevention system. Community Liaison Helen Williott-Liptak said that the system was available for free as part of Home Instead’s new care plus plan. She said that the system incorporates a dedicated fall button for the client as well as sensors that detect a fall and immediately contacts Home Instead 24/7, allowing them to be “on call even when nobody is on shift.” Liptak explained that in the event of the fall, the client is immediately put in contact with one of their local and vetted in-home healthcare providers to ensure they receive the help they need and are safe.
