East Palestine police investigating drive-by shooting on West Martin Street
EAST PALESTINE — Village police are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred early Sunday on West Martin Street.
Lt. Don Johnson released a statement via social media Sunday morning stating that the shooting occurred in the 800 block of West Martin Street and it is believed it was a targeted incident and there is currently no threat to the public.
He said the shots were fired from a passing vehicle into a home on West Martin Street. No injuries were reported.
“At this time is it known that this was not a random act and there is no further concern for the safety of the public,” he said in the statement.
He added that officers do have suspects in the case and further information will be released at a later time.
“We would like to extend our gratitude to the East Palestine Fire Department for their assistance,” he said.
