SHSAA to host patriotic concert
The Salem High School Alumni Association invites alumni, residents and friends of the community to attend a free concert featuring the Dave Banks Band on Wednesday, July 1, at the Salem High School auditorium. The performance will begin at 7 p.m.
As part of the celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States, the Dave Banks Band will present its production, “America Remembers,” a patriotic musical experience for audiences of all ages. Featuring 23 performers on stage, the show showcases patriotic favorites including “God Bless America” and “America the Beautiful,” as well as a medley of Armed Forces theme songs honoring the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Space Force.
The Dave Banks Big Band takes audiences on a musical journey through seven decades of American popular music, spanning the 1940s to the present day. The two-hour production also features talented tribute artists Walt Sanders, Shannon Eller, and Stanley Davis, who recreate the excitement and nostalgia of the iconic USO performances that entertained generations of Americans.
Every song is performed live, and highlights including Elvis Presley’s “American Trilogy,” Neil Diamond’s “America,” and the inspirational finale, “God Bless the USA.” Admission is free and the concert is open to the public.
Book club to present six-week study
Women of Faith Christian Book Club will present a six-week study entitled “Overcomer,” written by well-known author and founder of Turning Point Ministry, Dr. David Jeremiah. The book offers a message of hope for all who trust in God, as well as inspiring stories of how God’s people overcame the world. Meetings will be held at the Carnegie Public Library, downtown East Liverpool, beginning July 17, at 11 a.m. Anyone interested in attending should call 216-276-7345 or 330-271-0565. Elkton to hold community reunion Sunday
Elkton will hold its annual community reunion Sunday at the Elkton United Methodist Church starting at 1 p.m. The event is open to the public. Feel free to bring a covered dish.
Mahoning County 4-H invites youth to Cloverbud Day Camp
Young explorers are invited to blast off on a space-themed adventure at the 2026 Mahoning County 4-H Cloverbud Day Camp. Designed for youth ages 5 to 8, this one-day camp combines hands-on learning, outdoor fun, and new friendships in a safe and engaging environment.
Campers will embark on a mission filled with STEM activities, team challenges, outdoor games, creative exploration, and space-themed adventures. Throughout the day, youth will build confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and experience the fun of 4-H through age-appropriate activities designed just for Cloverbuds.
Participants may choose between two camp dates:
Tuesday, July 21
Wednesday, July 22
The camp will be held at the 4-H Activity Center on the Canfield Fairgrounds and includes activities, lunch, and a T-shirt for all participants. The cost of the camp is $30 for this all day experience.

Silver Park Independence Day to include pro wrestling
Live, family-friendly professional wrestling entertainment has been added to the activities at Alliance’s Silver Park for the Independence Day fireworks to commemorate 250 years of freedom. Matches, put on by Powerslam Pro Wrestling, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. “up top” at Field No. 2. Admission is free and special concessions and bleacher seating will be available. Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs as a large crowd is expected.
Powerslam Pro Wrestling is an Ohio-based professional promotion that has been delivering high-energy, family-friendly live events for more than six years. The show combines athletic competition, colorful characters, and interactive storytelling to create unforgettable entertainment for audiences of all ages. There is no excessive violence, language or adult content in a Powerslam show.
Trained professional local wrestlers give fans a chance to connect with hometown heroes and villains. Wrestlers will be available after the show for photos, autographs, and fan interaction. This adds extra value for families and increases audience engagement.

Springfield Township Historical Society lecture delayed due to parade
The Springfield Township Historical Society Museum’s “Afternoon at the Museum” speaker series, which is normally held the first Sunday of each month, will be delayed in July due to the July 4th holiday and the “Village of New Middletown and Springfield Township America 250 Parade” on July 12. The parade will start at 5 p.m., going from the intersection of state Route 170 and Calla Road (aka Ginger Hill) through the village of New Middletown to the Springfield High School (11335 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road) where there will be food trucks and entertainment. The Springfield Township Historical Society will be participating.
The STHS “Afternoon at the Museum” will be held on Sunday, July 19 with Lee Kohler who will talk about the Changes in Agriculture from 1962 to 2026 in Springfield Township. The STHS museum opens at 1:30 p.m., program starts at 2 p.m. This program is free and open to everyone. The museum is at 14188 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road (state Route 170), Petersburg. Oddmall’s Minerva Monster Mega Mall open July 11
Oddmall’s Minerva Monster Mega Mall is coming to Minerva’s historic North Market Street Saturday, July 11, noon to 8 p.m.
One of Ohio’s largest and most unique exhibitions of art and artifice, Oddmall features a wide variety of artists, crafters, entertainers, cosplayers, artisans, entertainers, and purveyors of games, toys, comics, collectibles, and all things odd, geeky, bizarre, imaginative, and wonderful.
