Squeaky Wheel Theater company presents Annie at the CAT
COLUMBIANA — The Columbiana Arts Theater (The CAT) welcomes audiences of all ages as The Squeaky Wheel Theater Company brings the Broadway musical Annie to the stage from June 19 through 28. Showtimes are 7 p.m. June 19 and 26, and 2 p.m. June 20, 21, 27 and 28. Tickets are available at www.AtTheCAT.com. Filled with unforgettable songs, heartwarming moments and timeless characters, Annie tells the inspiring story of a determined young orphan whose optimism and courage transform the lives of everyone she meets. Mahoning County Model Aircraft Club to meet
The Mahoning County Model Aircraft Club will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. June 24 at Shaker Woods Field in Columbiana (enter at 219 state Route 7). Arrive at 4 p.m. if wishing to fly. New members welcome. Meetings are held last Wednesday of each month. In case of rain, meet at Bellaria Pizza on Market Street, Boardman. The Annual Fun Fly is scheduled for Sept. 19, public welcome. East Liverpool trash will be collected Juneteenth
Trash will be collected from East Liverpool residences Friday. The refuse and recycling department employees are scheduled to work on Juneteenth. Residents whose trash is normally collected on Fridays are asked to have their trash set out at the curb for pick up as usual. Trash service on any of the city routes will not be affected by the national holiday.
Three Rivers Avian Wings of Wonder program at Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center
Volunteers from the Three Rivers Avian Center from Hinton, W.Va., will be under the pavilion at the Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center on Sunday, June 28 from 2 to 3 p.m. with six of their program birds of prey. They will talk about the birds and tell their stories of how they arrived at their rehabilitation center. The birds will include two owls, a falcon, a raven, a hawk and a bald eagle. Guests will be able to take photos and ask questions.
Ohio River Birding Trail Program at the Wildlife Education Center
Join Jamey Emmert, Avian Education coordinator with the Ohio Division of Wildlife, under the pavilion at the Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center on Saturday, June 27 from 1 to 2 p.m. and learn about the plans to establish the Ohio River Birding Trail which will highlight up to 100 premier birding hotspots along the river’s shoreline. Emmert will also discuss what makes the Ohio River region special for birds and birders. Beaver Creek State Park will be one of the hotspots on the trail.
Akron-Canton Foodbank bringing Pop-Up Pantry to Glamorgan Castle
ALLIANCE — The Akron-Canton Food Bank is partnering with Alliance City Schools this summer to bring their mobile Foodbank Pop-Up Pantry program to Alliance in June, July and August. The goal of the Pop-Up Pantry program is to help fill the food gap for families with school-age children who are missing out of food provided at school during the school year. The food is free and available to any neighbors seeking assistance, not just those children connected to the schools. The Foodbank Pop-Up Pantry will be parked at Glamorgan Castle, and will distribute food from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the fourth Wednesdays of June, July and August. The dates are June 24, July 22 and Aug. 26.
