Final screening of Brier Hill planned at The CAT
The Columbiana Arts Theater (The CAT) will host the final screening of the acclaimed regional film Brier Hill at 6 p.m. Saturday. This special finale event will feature a guest speaker following the screening along with a special announcement. Based on the novel by Jimmy Taaffe, Brier Hill tells the story of Benny and Taffy, two lifelong residents of Youngstown’s historic Brier Hill neighborhood. Set during a turbulent era marked by organized crime and corruption, the film follows the couple as they navigate desperation, vengeance, and survival in a world forever changed by their choices. The film is rated PG-13.
EP Eagles to hold drive thru stuffed chicken dinner
East Palestine Eagles #1506 is having their monthly drive thru stuffed chicken breast dinner Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. Dinner is a stuffed chicken breast, baked potato, vegetable and roll for $11. Call 330-853-8483 to reserve meals.
Lepper Library to host events in June
LISBON – Lepper Library will host the following upcoming events:
Writer’s Group: 2 p.m. June 6. Join fellow writers to discuss topics such as writing, publishing and grammar. To receive constructive critiques, submit five pages a week in advance to dolly@lepperlibrary.org. Writer’s Group is made possiblein part by state tax dollars given by the Ohio Legislature to the Ohio Arts Council (OAC). The OAC is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio Communities culturally, educationally and economically.
Dino Activities: 10:30 a.m. to noon. Drop in and get a start on some DINO fun before the Summer Reading Program begins. Make some dinosaur crafts and color a large dinosaur poster.
Summer Reading Kickoff: 11 a.m. June 8. Join in on all the fun of the Summer Reading Program’s Unearth a Story. Get registered and explore the world of dinosaurs at the available stations: Decorate a canvas bag, use tools to excavate a Dino Egg, Dig for Dinosaurs, and Plant a Flower.
On Target Outfitters announces 2026 Summer Day Camps lineup
CANFIELD — On Target Outfitters has announced its 2026 Summer Day Camps, featuring a lineup of outdoor, skill-based, and adventure-focused experiences for elementary and middle school students. Registration opened April 1, with programs designed to help children build confidence, develop practical skills, and create lasting memories in a safe, encouraging environment.
Blending hands-on outdoor education with character development, On Target Outfitters’ camps emphasize both skill-building and personal growth. Alongside activities in nature and outdoor recreation, campers will also hear an age-appropriate faith-based message each day.
The 2026 lineup includes a diverse range of camps:
Fishing Camps such as Fish On! And Advanced Fishing, where campers learn casting, knot tying, and fishing fundamentals
Archery Camps like Archery 101 and Next Level Archery, focused on building confidence, precision, and sportsmanship
Adventure & Survival Camps, including Finding Bigfoot, Ultimate Outdoors Camp, and Girls vs. Nature, teaching tracking, teamwork, and outdoor problem-solving
Marksmanship Camps such as First Step Riflery, Locked and Loaded, and Sharpshooting Academy, emphasizing firearm safety and shooting fundamentals in a structured, safety-first environment
Additional offerings include creative arts, outdoor games, beginner-friendly adventure programs, and one-day experiences designed for younger campers.
Each camp balances fun with meaningful learning. Activities such as archery, fishing, fire-building, survival skills, and team challenges help campers develop confidence, responsibility, and real-world abilities in a supportive setting.
