CCBDD approves sponsorship for junior fair all in show
LISBON – Superintendent Bill Devon in his report to board members during the May 20 meeting of the Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities (CCBDD) said the Robert Bycroft School held their graduation on May 14 and their field day on May 8 and everyone had a great time.
Tickets for Wresting Under the Stars are available for CCBDD at a deeply discounted price of $5 per ticket. Registration for tickets needs to be done by June 19. The event will include the Hardy Boys in action, will take place live at the 717 Credit Union Field at Eastwood in Niles on July 11 at 7:30 p.m. The event will also have Mickie James, Matt Riddle, new champion Matt Tave and WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) Hall of Famers JBL, Ron Simmons, Lex Luger, and Davey Boy Smith Jr. With more superstars to be announced.
During the public portion of the meeting, Allison Irwin of the Columbiana County Jr. Fair Board gave a presentation on an all-inclusive jr. fair with an all-in livestock show for children and adults with development disabilities and requested CCBDD provide a sponsorship for $2,500 which the board approved.
Board members also approved the contract for Everway learning systems for teachers at the Robert Bycroft School at cost of $9,589.79; sending two employees to Leadership Columbiana County at a cost of 41,500 per person; the purchase of a continental breakfast and lunch for the annual in-service to be held in August; the contribution of $2,500 for sensory materials and equipment for Beaver Local Schools Intervention Program; a new three-year contract with East Liverpool City Hospital for physical therapist, occupational therapist and speech therapist at a cost of $58.38 per hour and physical therapist assistant and occupational therapist assistant at a cost of $39.78 per hour; the power washing of the Robert Bycroft School by Dawson Brothers at cost of $2,899 and the creating of a new service and support administration position on the current wage scale.
The minutes from the April 15 meeting and the financial report and bills for payment were approved as presented.
There was no old business from the board or the superintendent and no new business from the board.
The Columbiana County Board of Developmental Disabilities meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m. at the administration building, 7675 state Route 45, Lisbon. The next regular meeting is scheduled for June 17.
