Liverpool Township trustees approve sale of township vehicles

EAST LIVERPOOL – Liverpool Township Police Chief Jarrod Kinemond was given the go ahead for the sale of the police department’s 2016 F150 police cruiser.

At the trustees meeting Tuesday, the board told Kinemond to accept a reasonable off for the cruiser, which is no longer needed.

Kinemond also received approval to extend the body camera contract with Motorola for an additional five years to lock in the current price and avoid a price increase later. The current contact, which ends in 2028, would then extend until 2033. The contract also provides for the department to receive new updated cameras every two years during the contract.

Kinemond was also granted approval to file a $10,000 grant application for which the township would have to provide matching funds of $2,500 for new vests.

The chief also requested that the trustees grant officer Beau Tatgenhorst his longevity pay increase the extra week of paid that vacation that comes with five years of service on the department. The trustees gave their approval.

Fire Chief Jacob Russell was not present at the meeting but submitted his report to Trustee Mike Bahen.

In Russell’s report he noted that the tankers at both station 8 and Dixonville had the oil change in house which saved the fire department approximately $1,300.

Russell also requested to purchase new flag poles to replace the broken ones at both stations and approval to rent dumpsters for both stations for a weekend to clean out the stations.

There were no estimates provided for the flag poles or the dumpsters so Russell will be asked to be prices for both before approval is granted. It was also suggested that Russell see if the city could help by picking up what is thrown out from the stations with their claw truck.

Russell also said the department recently obtained a new member, and another member graduated from the Youngstown State University Fire Academy and has his state certifications.

Road Supervisor Chris Bosworth also was not present at the meeting, but submitted his report to Trustee Dennis Giambroni to present.

In his report, Bosworth said that the road department is nearly done with the chip and seal preparation and has been busy keeping up with residents’ concerns.

Bosworth also said that the 2018 Ford F150 has been repaired.

Bosworth requested to be able to rent a broom attachment for sweeping at a cost of $151 per week or $937 for the month. Fiscal Officer Shirley Flati realized that instead of the monthly rate if the rental was for four weeks, the cost would be $604.

The trustees will advise Bosworth to verify the monthly rate and gave approval for the rental with the cost remaining in the range of $600 to $700.

Bahen said that the road department’s 2006 dump truck has been verbally sold and requested that Giambroni be given the authority to sign any transfer documents instead of himself when the funds are received.

Flati said that she completed the March 2026 bank reconciliation and was starting on the 2027 budget.

Minutes from the April 14 meeting were approved, and bills totaling $71,313.71 were approved for payment.

There was no correspondence, resolutions to be adopted, old or new business and no one to speak during public portion.

The Liverpool Township Board of Trustees meets every other Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the township administration building, 2485 Boring Lane, East Liverpool. The next regular meeting is scheduled for May 12.
