Marcela Purtell, M.D.

SALEM – Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) has announced that Family Medicine physician Marcela Purtell, M.D., will resume seeing patients on May 20 at SRMC Primary Care-Calcutta, located at 48462 Bell School Road.

A familiar face to many local families, Purtell previously served the Calcutta community at this location before Heritage Valley Health System closed its facilities in March. The practice has since transitioned to a service of Salem Regional Medical Center. Purtell joins Family Medicine physician Katarina Barlow, M.D., and nurse practitioner Kelly Fischer, MSN, FNP, to offer comprehensive primary care and walk-in urgent care for patients of all ages.

Expanded Services in Calcutta

SRMC Primary Care-Calcutta re-opened in April at the Calcutta Medical Arts Center on Bell School Road.

In addition to primary and walk-in care, the Calcutta Medical Arts Center offers:

— On-Site Laboratory Services: Open now with convenient, walk-in testing.

— Coming in June- Medical Imaging: Medical Imaging services, including x-rays, DEXA scans and mobile mammograms are tentatively planned to be added in June.

— Coming in August- Urgent Care: Expanded Urgent Care is slated for August, including evening and weekend hours.

“We recognize that patients in the greater Calcutta area depend on this office for both routine care and diagnostic services and are dedicated to keeping these essential services easily accessible,” Dr. Hackstedde added.
