Alpha Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma welcomes guest speaker

EAST PALESTINE – The most recent meeting of the Columbiana County Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers’ Honorary was held at the East Palestine Public Library. Nancy Dicken offered the Invocation.
President Barb Lipp conducted the business meeting with both the secretary’s minutes and treasurer’s reports accepted.
The Scholarship Committee is to meet and convert the procedure from awarding scholarships to high school seniors who are going to pursue a degree in education to offering active county teachers the opportunity to apply for classroom grants.
Pam Todd and Lipp attended the Tri-County Presidents’ meeting on behalf of the Alpha Iota Chapter.
Correspondence was received from member Lois Chandler, who turned 100 years old. She is now living in Canton, New York.
Marcie Cullivan, the Wellness Coordinator and Clinician for INSIGHT Clinical Counseling and Wellness, LLC, spoke on the topic of “Winter Blues.” She explained the biology and behaviors associated with the condition and offered a checklist on dealing with the winter mood.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 15, at the New Waterford Methodist Church. Guest speaker will be Bailey Staudt (House in Ireland). Members are to bring a covered dish and donations for Goodwill.
