NORTH GEORGETOWN – The West Branch Area Ladies Ruritan Club met March 16 for its monthly meeting in North Georgetown.

The guest speaker was Lisa Gonzales of the Alliance Pregnancy Center. The center provides free support for mother, father and baby from early pregnancy through parenting skills classes. Upcoming events and expansion at the center were discussed and Gonzales brought informational pamphlets and baby bottles for fund raising. Each club member who wished to do so took a bottle to fill with loose change and will return them at the April meeting as well as baby items needed at the center.

The club’s regular meeting was held after Gonzales spoke with the pledge of allegiance, the singing of “God Bless America” and Viola Blanchard giving a St. Patrick’s Day themed devotion telling of the patron saint of Ireland and how the shamrock symbolizes the Holy Trinity.

Regular business was discussed and lunch was served by Jean Zion and Joann Pinkerton after the meeting adjourned.

The club’s next meeting will be held Monday, April 20.
