Hearing continued in child porn possession case after defendant changes his attorneys again
LISBON –A status hearing Friday was continued after an Illinois man charged for allegedly possessing images of child pornography changed attorneys again, requiring more time for the new attorney to prepare.
Vincent John Bianconi, 36, last known address Chicago Heights, Ill., will face a new status hearing at 8:30 a.m. April 27. County Assistant Prosecutor Jennifer Bonish said that was the trial date but it’s now been converted to a status hearing.
Attorney Lawrence Stacey II filed a notice of appearance as defense attorney for Bianconi on Thursday. Bianconi had been represented by appointed defense attorney T. Robert Bricker previously. He was appointed to the case on Jan. 2. Prior to that, Bianconi had hired counsel, but terminated their representation, with a motion of termination filed with the court in December by Brad Koffel and Tod Brininger.
Charges against Bianconi include three counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, a fourth-degree felony, and misdemeanors of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools.
Bianconi was accused of allegedly responding to an undercover ad placed by an agent on a known prostitution website and requesting a woman meet him in his semi truck for sex acts in exchange for $30, arriving at the meeting location in East Palestine on July 4, 2024 in his semi truck wearing only a robe, according to an affidavit. In his possession was $50 and the cell phone used to make the arrangements, which was seized. An agent with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force recovered images of minor children engaged in sexual acts.
A defense motion to suppress evidence was denied.
