LISBON – Cashton George is the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center’s December Student of the Month.
Cashton is a senior from Crestview High School and is enrolled in the Welding and Fabrication Program under the instruction of Michael Boyle.
Cashton is a member of the SkillsUSA Chapter at the CCCTC. He also serves as a student ambassador. He is a student representative of the Student Business Advisory Council.
As a participant in the CCCTC work based learning program, Cashton works as a structural welder at Steelcon.
Upon graduation, Cashton plans to work as a traveling welder so that he can see the country while saving money to purchase a truck and camper and be able to pursue his dream of traveling.
Cashton stated “The CCCTC was a good choice for me because it gave me something to look forward to every day. It also enabled me to learn with my hands, make some amazing friends, and get to experience Mr. Boyle’s wonderful teaching.”
Cashton was nominated by Boyle, who stated “I chose Cashton as student of the month because he consistently demonstrates exceptional character, dedication and leadership skills both in and out of the classroom. He is committed to becoming the best he can be academically and as a Skilled Welder. Cashton also is a positive role model to other around him. He always has a genuine smile and is always kind and respectful to his teachers and classmates. He is a very good listener and is easy to carry on a conversation with. The thing that impresses me the most about Cashton is that he has a strong work ethic. He never complains about an assignment or having to go to work. I consider Cashton the perfect student I am so proud of his accomplishments.”
Cashton is the son of Jennifer George.
