EAST PALESTINE — Council approved an ordinance Monday night, authorizing the municipal manager to advertise for public bids for their 2026 street resurfacing project.

Authorities plan to solicit bids for the construction and paving of East Main Street from Market Street intersection to Pleasant Drive; Brookdale Avenue from the municipal limits to the Main Street intersection; and such other streets or parts or streets as identified by the street superintendent, approved by the municipal manager and within the street resurfacing budget.

The inaugural meeting of the Charter Review Commission was held Feb. 19 with members Mark Rhodes, Curtis Veiock, Traci Spratt, and Ron and Peggy Caratelli, establishing the schedule for their next three monthly meetings for Thursday, March 26; Thursday, April 30; and Monday, May 18 to be held at 6 p.m.

In other action, Amanda Wilson was appointed to the East Palestine park board.
