Columbiana First UMC soup sale
Deadline for pre-orders for the Columbiana First UMC February Soup Sale is Feb. 8. Call 330-482-2382 to order. Soups available are chicken noodle, stuffed pepper, potato, vegetable, ham and bean, and chili. Pickup will be on Feb. 12 between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.
Lake Mount GreifShare session
Lake Mount Church of Christ located at 6290 state Route 7, New Waterford, is hosting a 13-week session of GriefShare every Sunday evening beginning Feb. 22 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. GriefShare is a special weekly seminar and support group designed to help rebuild one’s life after losing a loved one. This group is led by caring people who have experienced grief and want to help others through their difficult days ahead. Cost of the program is $10 to help cover workbook and materials. Banquet in Salem Monday
The Dine in or Drive Thru Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Monday at the Salem Memorial Building will be sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police Quaker Lodge #88. The menu will include stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas, coleslaw, fresh vegetables and fruit, and cookies. Dine in will park in designated area behind the building and proceed to front door. Drive thru will line up in lot behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. Tops 1341 meeting
Tops 1341 met at the Glenmoor Presbyterian on Feb. 2, with Mary Gailey, facilitator, presiding. Dena White was the best loser. Dorothy Garn and Cassie Ensinger were runners-up. They chose potato chips and cookies as the junk food for the coming week.
The drawing winners were: food chart and junk food, Garn; 50/50, Darlene Naukem; and weight loss, Gailey.
Garn and Ensinger were three times in the best losers book. Gailey lost three weeks in a row and was 24 weeks in the attendance book. Cheryl Myers holds the travel box.
The monthly best loser was White and the runner-up was Darla Varney. Garn won the exercise drawing Gailey was the winner of the food chart drawing.
The secretary reported was accepted as written. Cathy Wollam, treasurer, presented the monthly report and it was filed for audit.
The meeting opened with pledges and closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
