South Range school board

The South Range school board will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 4 at the K-12 campus to consider tentative agreements with education and classified employees associations, amendment and extension of superintendent’s contract and resignation/retirement of personnel.

The school board also issued a statement regarding a Sunshine Law lawsuit filed against the district regarding open meetings in reference to a notice of a June 2025 special meeting.

“Though the June (2025) special meeting notice included the purpose of the meeting and all agenda items under consideration, the board does not want any ambiguity or question as to the legitimacy of its actions,” the statement reads. “For this reason, the board will hold a properly noticed special meeting to openly discuss and consider the items mentioned in the lawsuit. This step reflects our commitment to open governance and allows the board to remain focused on what matters most – providing the best possible education for our students.”
