MINERVA – The Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce’s Roxy Theatre has a comedy show and an ELO Tribute scheduled in upcoming weeks.

Krackpots Comedy Club will present the comedy of hypnotist Flip Orley at the Roxy on Saturday, Jan. 17, 7 p.m.

Flip Orley has reinvented comedy hypnosis, transforming it from old-school vaudeville into a high-energy, laugh-out-loud experience for today’s audiences. With appearances on The today Show and Entertainment Tonight among others, Flip seamlessly blends stand-up comedy with spontaneous, unscripted hypnosis – making every show completely unique.

Minerva’s Roxy Theatre welcomes Into the Blue- ELO Tribute on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m.

Established in 2021, Into the Blue is an 11-piece Electric Light Orchestra tribute band bringing ELO’s smash hits to Northeast Ohio. Featuring live strings from the Tuscarawas Philharmonic and musicians who truly play from the heart, audiences experience the authentic sound that takes them back to an era when rock and roll was king.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. The Roxy Theatre is located at 120 N. Market St. and is handicap accessible.

Downtown restaurants will be open throughout the evening, and concessions will be available at the theater. The village’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area will be in effect 4 to 10 p.m. Patrons may purchase beverages in official DORA cups from the Normandy Inn, Stoney Inn, Que Pasa Mexican Restaurant, and Sandy Springs Brewing Company and carry them throughout the designated area, including into the Roxy.

No outside beverages may be brought into the Roxy unless they are in DORA cups.
