Liverpool Twp. receives first of two new trucks

LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP – Liverpool Township Road Supervisor Chris Bosworth told the board of trustees during Tuesday’s meeting that the first of the two new trucks purchased by the township had arrived.

Bosworth said the truck would be put into service as soon as the plates for it arrive.

Bosworth also said that both the 2006 and 2016 trucks used by the township need to be sent out to be looked at due to issues with both. The trustees gave Bosworth the go ahead to send the trucks out to get an estimate on repair cost and to call trustee Dennis Giambroni with the amounts and obtain permission to go ahead with the repairs or not.

He also noted that the new road signs purchased through a grant had arrived, and they are waiting on the post to arrive to put them up.

Bosworth requested and was given approval to purchase at an estimated cost of $1,000 cutting edges/blades for the trucks.

Police Chief Jarod Kinemond said that the digital cameras purchased through a grant have been installed in the police cars.

Fire Chief Jacob Russell said that the department responded to a total of 156 calls in 2025.

He also noted that all trucks for stations seven and eight were now in service and that the truck he uses as chief is due for new tires soon. The trustees told him to obtain quotes for the costs of new tires.

Russell requested the department be allowed to switch back to the software program they had previously used instead of using the software through the state fire marshal since all the department’s inventory and logs were stored on the previously used software and it would be easier to update inventory and other information using that.

Trustees agreed the switch to the former software, which cost $1,700, would be better for the department and gave the chief the go ahead to make the change.

Fiscal Officer Shirley Flati said she was performing day-to-day duties, working on year-end and mandatory quarterly reports and that she has completed the December bank reconciliation and distributed the 2026 payroll date sheets to all departments.

Trustee Keith Burke was appointed to the Firemen’s Dependency Board.

Bills totaling 37,189.34 were approved for payment.

The trustees held an executive session for the discussion of personnel compensation. They returned to an opening meeting with no action taken.

There were no resolutions or ordinances to vote on.

The Liverpool Township Board of Trustees meet every other Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the township administration building. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Jan. 20.

Starting at $2.99/week.
