OSU Alumni Club scholarships

Local high school seniors considering attending The Ohio State University in the fall are reminded the OSU Alumni Club of Columbiana County offers five competitive $1,000 scholarships. To apply for one of these scholarships the student must have applied to the university and have a student ID number. Application is made through the OSU financial aid website, Scholarship Universe. If assistance is needed, applicants can call the Financial Aid Office at 614-688-4357. The deadline to apply is Feb. 15.

The Scholarship Committee of the local Alumni Club will select five winners based on school performance, community involvement and a sound interest and positive attitude for collegiate success. Applicants who plan to attend the main campus or any of the branch campuses including ATI are considered equally.

The OSU Alumni Club of Columbiana County has been providing $1,000 scholarship to incoming freshman students who attend high school or are residents of the county for more than a decade.

Wellsville BOE special meeting

The Wellsville Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. Monday in the Wellsville Jr. Sr. High Media Center. The topic of the meeting will be to consider entering into executive session to consider the purchase of property for public purposes and to consider the acknowledgment of the board appreciation dinner hosted/catered by the Nutrition Group as well as to consider the presentation of certificates to the Nutrition Group.
