Winona Ruritan Club holds Christmas dinner celebration
WINONA – The Winona Ruritan club held its annual Christmas dinner celebration Dec. 9 at the Winona Friends Church.
President Rob Doyle Jr., called the meeting to order and welcomed members, members’ spouses and special guests Zone 4 Governor Pat MacAleese and his wife, Terry, to the year end dinner and entertainment.
Doyle Jr. asked everyone to rise and sing “America.” Homer Althouse gave the “Invocation.” The caterer served a dinner consisting of tossed salad with choice of three dressings, stuffed chicken breasts, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, dinner rolls with butter, and water,
iced tea and coffee. For dessert a choice of pecan or pumpkin pie.
Secretary Elmer Lee Stamp called the roll of members, with 16 being present, and when their name was called each member introduced their guest. There were 16 guests, for a total of 32 for dinner.
The club dispensed with the monthly secretary and treasurer’s reports. Members sang Happy Birthday to those born in December: Thom Ewing, Richard Stoffer and Elmer Lee Stamp, as well as the caterer’s mother.
Doyle Jr. re-introduced Pat MacAleese, who installed club officers and directors for 2026: President Doyle Jr., Vice President Tom Richey, Secretary Elmer Lee Stamp, Treasurer Bob Doyle Sr., Past President Tom Sanor, Director Rob Donaldson and Director Bruce Marhefka.
Doyle Jr. asked everyone to stand and pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States. He then wished everyone a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and safe travels home.
Doyle Jr. then turned the evening over to the West Branch Show Choir under the direction of Krista Clay.
