Utica Shale Academy holds Holiday Wishes project
SALINEVILLE – The Utica Shale Academy is ensuring that its students have a bright Christmas with a Holiday Wishes project.
School officials have been gathering wish lists and accepting donations so those in need have gifts underneath the tree on Christmas Day. Assistant Superintendent Laura Krulik said 29 students will be supported this season and the response from community members and partners has been great.
“We contacted families to see if they needed help for Christmas and got their kids’ clothing and shoe sizes and wants,” Krulik said. “We also reached out to community partners and members to donate and they have been very giving.”
She thanked supporters, which include USA staff and administration, B&S Country Carryout, National Association of Royalty Owners, Chase Chickens LLC, PSC Group, the Sebo family, Salineville Assembly of God, Highlandtown Church, West Point Lions Club, Speedy Drilling Company LLC, PACA Partners LLC, Project MKC, Campbell’s Signs, and other community friends.
Organizers were awaiting the gifts while monetary donations were also being accepted, and the deadline was Dec. 12. Gifts may be dropped off at the Williams Collaboration Building at 10 E. Main St. and cash or checks may be taken to the site or sent in care of Utica Shale Academy, 10 E. Main St., Salineville, Ohio, 43945. Krulik said parents may retrieve the gifts or the gifts will be delivered.
