Upper Ohio Valley Museum to host student workshops
EAST LIVERPOOL — In recognition of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States, the Upper Ohio Valley Museum and Learning Center at the Lou Holtz Hall of Fame will be hosting a series of student workshops each month through June. The workshops are designed to engage students in this critical time in American history.
The goal is to explore the significance of the nation’s founding and reflect on this key time period in American history. Each interactive workshop will feature a colonial history lesson, a game, craft, and snack from that time period.
“These workshops will give students an opportunity to connect history to their own lives” stated Michelle Roberts, director of operations at the museum, and is part of a broader effort to commemorate the nation’s birthday celebration that will be sweeping the United States in July 2026.
The workshops will be taking place on Jan. 10, Feb. 21, March 21, April 18, May 16, and June 20 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Upper Ohio Valley Museum and Learning Center, 120 E. Fifth St. Students can attend as many of the workshops as they would like. The workshops are free of charge and open to students in grades three through eight.
