SALEM — The Small Village, Big Hearts Lisbon Holiday Distribution event was held on Dec. 13 at St. George Hall. A total of 112 households consisting of 387 household members living in the 44432 zip code signed up for a little help this holiday season. The community came together and responded in a big way and with all their heart. There were 17 groups, churches, businesses, and organizations that worked together to distribute items such as food vouchers, clothing for kids, hats and gloves, backpacks, Christmas Eve gifts, blankets, puzzles for seniors, energy conservation items, wrapping supplies, filled stockings, pet items, Lisbon Spirit wear, hygiene items for kids, along with toys and gifts.
This is the second year for the event. Those participating included the Almost Perfect Foundation, CAA of Columbiana County, CARTS, Clip Joint Wrappers, Elkrun Township Tourism Bureau, Lisbon Chamber of Commerce, Lisbon Assembly of God, Lisbon First United Methodist Church, Lisbon Lions Club, Lisbon Salvation Army, Lisbon Schools, New Lisbon Presbyterian church, Serenity’s Way Under Wraps, St. George Church, VFW Post 4111, VFW Auxiliary, and the West Point Lions. Many of these groups relied on donations from individuals, businesses and other local organizations to purchase the items they handed out. Additional community members stepped up to help with setting up and volunteered the day of the event. Planning for the 2026 distribution will begin in July and new partners are always welcome.
