LEETONIA — Leetonia Exempted Village School District completed its inaugural Christmas toy drive this past week.
Hosted by members of its fourth-and fifth-grade student council, the students collected more than 250 gifts for children in the community.
New, unwrapped toys suited for any age were accepted and placed in donation boxes within each classroom as part of a school wide friendly challenge.
Kayla Klacik’s fourth-grade classroom won an ice cream party.
Students, families, and staff helped surpass expectations that will brighten the holidays for many local kids. Project spearheads Kayla Klacik and Emily Rodik personally delivered the donated toys alongside student Council members Dec. 9 to the Big Reach Center For Hope in Greenford.
