Donation made to Lepper Library for digitizing newspapers

LISBON — The Lepper Library in Lisbon has received a generous donation to assist with the digitization of newspapers. The donor, who wishes to remain unnamed, invites others to contribute to the library’s dedicated fund for this initiative.

The target is to raise $12,000 to help bridge the gap for the years 1991 to 1999 and there is hope to achieve this goal by Christmas time.

Currently, one can access local newspapers from 1810 to 1991 and from 2000 to 2024. Featured titles include the Aurora, Buckeye State, Daily Patriot, Lisbon Evening Journal, Morning Journal, New Lisbon Journal, Ohio Patriot, Republican Leader, and Western Palladium. Enabling access to local history is one of the library’s most crucial functions, especially in small rural communities.

For information on how to donate, visit the library’s website and look for the “About Us” section. Donations can be made online, in honor of or in memory of someone, or through planned gifts, or call 330-424-3117 or stop by for information.

Starting at $2.99/week.
