The lives of 85 Southern Local School District students will be brightened this holiday, thanks to an anonymous $15,000 donation from a generous benefactor. School Nurse Heidi McIntosh used the funding to acquire new coats and personal items, as well as $75 shoe vouchers to community partner The Shoe Dept., located at Summit Square in Calcutta. The items and vouchers will be distributed to students in elementary to high school who participated in the district’s annual Giving Tree program, where donors fulfill Christmas wish lists for children in need.
