Dawson named ELHS Scholar of the Month
East Liverpool High School recognizes Brady Charles Dawson as its Scholar of the Month, celebrating his outstanding academic achievements, leadership, and service to both school and community.
Brady, the son of Dike and Jennifer Dawson, is a member of the Class of 2026, where he maintains a 4.0 GPA and currently ranks first in his class. A high-achieving and goal-driven student, he has excelled in rigorous coursework including Advanced Placement classes, while also participating in the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, and the Engineering Career Tech Program. Brady serves his classmates as the Class of 2026 Treasurer and has been recognized as a Potter Empowered Student for his exemplary citizenship.
A dedicated athlete, Brady has been a member of the East Liverpool Varsity Tennis Team since his freshman year. He has earned three varsity letters, was a district qualifier his junior year, and received the team’s Grand Slam MVP award in the same season. He is expected to once again lead the program as the number-one singles player in his senior year.
Beyond the classroom and tennis courts, Brady is highly involved in school activities, contributing to the Academic Challenge Team, Robotics Team, Yearbook, Outdoor Adventure Club, and Booster Club. In 2024, he proudly represented East Liverpool High School as a delegate to Buckeye Boys State, gaining valuable experience in leadership, public service, and civic engagement.
Brady’s commitment to service extends to the broader community through his involvement with Boy Scout Troop 2041. He has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Scouting, completing 41 merit badges and serving as Senior Patrol Leader. Last summer, he worked as a Camp Counselor at 7 Ranges Scout Reservation, leading activities and teaching merit badges to younger Scouts.
In addition, Brady regularly volunteers with service initiatives across the region, including the Veterans Appreciation Day Picnic, the Angel Tree gift program at First Free Methodist Church, the Salvation Army, and the St. Clair Township Memorial Day event. He has assisted with cemetery flag placements and contributed to community improvement projects at Thompson Park, the YMCA camp, and the Seven Ranges camp.
After graduation, Brady plans to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering, where he hopes to continue using his skills in problem-solving, leadership, and community service to create meaningful impact.
