Columbiana takes next step for Christmas lights storage building

COLUMBIANA — The city has moved one step closer to a storage building to house all its Joy of Christmas lights in the offseason within Firestone Park.

The Planning Commission met for just more than a half hour Tuesday night to consider four action items, including an amendment of the zoning map for 139 Maple Drive.

Bryce Miner, deputy zoning administrator, spoke on behalf of the city’s replan request.

He explained the Barneses had donated the land that would need to be rezoned from R-1 to A-O-C (also known as Ag Open Space).

If approved, which it subsequently was, a public hearing to complete the process will be held in the month of January.

In other action, members also approved a replan request by Dutch Inn Properties Ltd. and Dutch Village Ltd. for two lots that were being transferred back to the Das Dutch Haus restaurant and a replan for Wardle Properties LLC for seven lots around 633 state Route 14 with the stipulation that the landscaping, lighting and paving be done on the project.

APL Properties LLC also got approval of its preliminary site plan for a clubhouse within Firestone Farms at 11624 South Ave. Extension in North Lima. Property developers decided to tweak plans as the Street I grade was a little cumbersome, so wanted to instead attach it to an adjacent property.

Starting at $2.99/week.
