Winona Ruritan Club

WINONA – The Winona Ruritan Club met Oct. 28 at the Winona Friends Church.

Secretary Lee Stamp called the roll with 19 members answering in the affirmative. He then read the minutes of the September meeting and the October board of directors meeting; there were no changes and the minutes were approved as read. Treasurer Bob Doyle Sr. gave his financial report for September, which was approved.

Doyle Sr. reported there were a few less tickets sold for the All-You-Can-Eat Pancake and Sausage Breakfast held this year compared to last year, although sausage sales were higher by $80. The club donated $300 to the church for use of the facility for the breakfast.

There was a need for election of officers and directors, with no volunteers for each. There is also a need for two directors, but no volunteers. A motion was made, seconded and passed that current officers and remaining directors be retained.

There was one birthday for October, Dennis McArthur, and everyone sang Happy Birthday to him.

Thank You cards were sent to Hull’s Super Duper and Eichler propane gas for their donations to make the breakfast successful and also Erin Knoedler, who spent all morning cooking gravy and Carol McArthur who spent all morning helping getting the tables set.

Doyle Jr. reported the club’s December meeting will be held Dec. 9, with hor’dourves at 6:30 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and entertainment by the West Branch show choir after dinner.

Doyle Jr. also thanked Tom Sanor, Dennis McArthur and Elmer Lee Stamp for enclosing the club’s storage shed with vinyl siding and metal roofing.

Everyone then stood and pledged allegiance to the American flag.

Starting at $2.99/week.
