SRMC makes ‘100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs’ list

SALEM — Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) continues providing local access to world-renowned cancer expertise through its ongoing partnership with University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center (UHSCC). In 2017, SRMC strategically affiliated its cancer care services with UHSCC, which is ranked among the nation’s “Top 50 Hospitals for Cancer Care” by U.S. News & World Report (2024-2025); and recently named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s list of “100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs,” (October 2025).

Through SRMC’s eight-year affiliation, cancer patients in the Mahoning Valley can receive advanced treatments, including radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and access to leading-edge clinical trials; all close to home. This collaboration connects local cancer patients directly to UHSCC’s world-renowned resources and 150 physician specialists, while upholding SRMC’s proud legacy of high-quality and compassionate care.

The UHSCC at SRMC provides both medical and radiation oncology services and is accredited through the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.

This accreditation provides assurance that an individual’s cancer care plan is developed through a multidisciplinary team approach and in accordance with national guidelines and best practices. In addition, the UHSCC at SRMC’s breast cancer program is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), signifying to patients that they will receive coordinated care from screening to survivorship that follows evidence-based guidelines. Salem Regional Medical Center also offers state-of-the-art medical imaging and has achieved accreditation by the American College of Radiology (ACR) as an ACR Designated Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center.
