Railroad safety
Shawn Bruderly, a presenter with Operation Lifesaver, talks to Columbiana Middle School students about railroad track safety. He reminded them that shortcuts across railroad tracks don’t save time if one ends up injured or deceased due to an unexpected encounter with a locomotive. He also stressed not only the importance of not getting stuck on the track but also that the average freight train can take up to 18 football fields to stop. More safety tips can be found at oli.org.
