Progress is being made as C. Tucker Cope of Columbiana continues work on the new county archive/records storage building at the corner of E. Chestnut and N. Jefferson. The building is taking shape and the windows and doors will be installed soon. The facility will be a two-story, 24,600-square-foot, climate-controlled, secure block and brick building with an elevator, a commercial shredder and office space. The completion date is mid-April according to the contract. The county is required by law to keep all records it generates. The $6.9 million project is being funded by the county.
