The Columbiana Fire Department hosted its annual community safety day Saturday on South Vine Street in front of the downtown fire station. Families could tour the station, view entries and winners from the Joshua Dixon Elementary School fire-themed art show, enjoy a firehouse bounce house-slide and other games plus lunch on free hot dogs and hot sausage with peppers and onions for the four-hour event. In addition to various pieces of modern fire equipment, Columbiana firefighters also had this vintage fire truck on display in the fire station. The truck is a 1937 Stutz and has a Hercules motor that was made in Canton. The motor (not the truck) still runs and pumps. (Photo by Stephanie Ujhelyi)
