Crisis Intervention Training is an intensive 40 hour program with the goal of improving the connections between law enforcement, mental health providers, hospital emergency services and individuals with mental illness and their families. Through this program local officers are trained to identify mental health resources for those in crisis and ensure officer and community safety when responding. This year is the 25th year of CIT in Ohio.
Through the efforts of the Board and NAMI, 100 percent of law enforcement departments within Mahoning County have at least one officer trained in CIT. This marks the second group of officers to graduate the program in 2025. For more information or media inquiries, please contact Adrienne Sabo at adrienne@workwithclever.com or 330-501-9187.
