Heartland Fall Pops Concert

The Heartland Christian School band will remember fallen Canfield post Ohio Highway Patrol trooper Nicholas Cayton during its Fall Pops Concert  on Tuesday, Nov. 4. According to school band director Joe Kane, composer Carl Strommen was commissioned by Tennessee High School Symphonic Band to write “In Their Honor” as a tribute to those impacted by the 9/11 tragedies. Strommen gave the Heartland Christian Band permission to change its title for this concert to “In His Honor” commemorating the life and legacy of Cayton, who died in the line of duty on Oct. 16. There will be collection boxes at each door for anyone wishing to make a donation to Cayton’s family. Along with “In His Honor,” the band will perform “America” from West Side Story, “Cantina Band” from Star Wars, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and more. The concert will be held at 7 p.m. in the Heartland Christian School Auditorium, 28 Pittsburgh St.

Starting at $2.99/week.
