Mile Branch Trunk-or-Treat
Mile Branch Grange, 495 Knox School Road, Alliance, is sponsoring its 9th Annual ALLERGY FREE Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. Mile Branch Grange members are hosting this event to provide a safe environment for children with food allergies or other health issues, who often miss traditional trick or treat to protect the child from possible reactions. The event is open to all children ages 0-14. Children need to bring their own container for treats. Treats will include small toys, coloring books, pencils, etc. There will be no food at the event. The event will be held rain or shine. Donations are being accepted from local businesses and community members to help fund this event. Candidate meet and greet
A community-focused candidate meet and greet will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Church of Our Savior, 870 E. State St., Salem, offering voters an opportunity to connect with their neighbors who are running for local office in the city of Salem and Perry Township. All candidates for school board, city council, township trustee, and municipal judge have been invited to attend this friendly event, designed to offer voters the chance to meet and mingle with candidates and get to know them in an informal setting. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided. Heather Smith, a local resident and teacher in Youngstown City Schools, is organizing the event. She is running for Salem City School Board.
