Life Line Screening
Residents living in and around Calcutta can learn about their risk for cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, and other chronic, serious conditions with affordable screenings by Life Line Screening. Peter Metrovich Community Center, 15442 Pugh Road, Calcutta, will host this community event Oct. 17. Screenings can check for: the level of plaque buildup in arteries, related to risk for cardiovascular disease, stroke and overall vascular health; HDL and LDL Cholesterol levels; Diabetes risk; kidney and thyroid function, and more. Screenings are affordable and convenient. Free parking is also available. Special package pricing starts at $159, but consultants will work with individuals to create a package that is right for them based on their age and risk factors. CCCTC conferences
The Columbiana County Career and Technical Center will hold its 2025-2026 first semester parent teacher conferences on Thursday, Oct. 9 from 2:15 to 8:45 p.m. To schedule a conference with a student’s teachers, contact the school at 330-424-9561 Ext. 110 and speak to Cindy Pugh.
Banquet in Salem
Darin Odey will sponsor the Dine in or Drive Thru Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Monday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include fried chicken, diced potatoes with onions and peppers, corn, coleslaw, fresh vegetables and fruit, and pudding. Dine in will park in designated area behind the building and proceed to front door. Drive thru will line up in lot behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. SBMC Fall 2025 Revival
Salem Bible Methodist Church, 1647 N. Ellsworth Ave., will host its Fall 2025 Revival Oct. 14 through 19 at 7 p.m. nightly, and 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19. The revival will feature Darell and Regina Stetler. For information call Pastor David Crosley at 812-675-1549.
Choose To Lose Group
Choose To Lose Group met at Boyce Church on September 30 with leader Penny Perorazio presiding. The meeting opened up with the pledge of allegiance followed by the CTLG roll call.
Pam Fouse gave the secretary report and Cassie Stephens gave the treasure report. Both were approved as read.
Carolyn Hager was the Pearl’s biggest loser. Dottie Seevers was the Diamonds biggest loser and also the officer biggest loser. Diamonds in leeway are JoAnn Beresford and Dottie Seevers.
Pat Heacock won the calorie charts, Penny Perorazio won the dimes, and Dottie Seevers won the Share The Blessing.
Winners of the No Fibbing Contest are Wanda Price, Penny Perorazio, Pam Fouse, and Pat Heacock. New numbers were drawn for the following week # 9.
Winner of the Pig In The Pen Contest was Tassy Everett. Tassy Everett was also the Winner Of The Month, Weight Loss.
Cassie Stephens shared an article about coffee. Penny Perorazio read a statement from Mathew McConaughey, Poems and Prayers.
