Columbiana closer to unveiling new city hall

COLUMBIANA — The city is proceeding closer to unveiling its new city hall in the former Cochran Auto Group at 31 Railroad St.

Council approved a second reading Tuesday night during a regular meeting to contract with Howells and Baird to handle the engineering and redesign of the structure to house not only the city’s administrative office but house the Columbiana Police Department.

The city’s economic development committee, which has been charged with retrofitting the dealership into a city municipal administrative building, is again set to meet in early December, city manager Lance Willard explained during his monthly report.

Members also considered three pieces of new business:

— Set a public hearing for 7:15 p.m. Dec. 2 for an amendment in the zoning map for KDC Properties, which (if approved) would change the select C4 properties to R2 on Jenny Lane.

— Request that the city manager contract with GCC for 369k circuit breakers.

— Accept the dedication of road, curbs, etc. in a specific area of Homestead that was recently dedicated.

Starting at $2.99/week.
