SRMC Urgent Care – North Jackson opens
SALEM – Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) is introducing walk-in, urgent care services in North Jackson with the launch of SRMC Urgent Care – North Jackson. This new service opened Monday at 10850 Mahoning Avenue, which also houses SRMC Occupational Health.
SRMC Urgent Care – North Jackson will offer patients convenient, walk-in medical care for minor illnesses and injuries that do not require an emergency department visit, with no appointment needed.
“We’re excited to expand access to urgent health care for residents of the greater North Jackson area and provide them with an option for immediate treatment near the places they live and work,” said Anita Hackstedde, M.D., SRMC President/CEO. “SRMC Urgent Care – North Jackson is a lower-cost alternative to the emergency room for those who need timely care for non-life-threatening medical problems, but can’t wait for an appointment with their regular doctors.”
“Patients can walk-in with no appointment and receive treatment for a wide range of conditions, including lacerations, sprains and strains; upper respiratory infections (cough, cold and flu symptoms); sinus and ear infections; asthma, bronchitis and pneumonia; urinary tract infections; and allergic reactions, poison ivy and other rashes. We also treat skin/wound infections and insect bites and stings,” explained Supreet Dhaliwal, M.D., Medical Director.
Walk-in hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Most health insurance plans are accepted, as well as self-pay options. Dhaliwal noted that no emergency services are available at this location, so people experiencing severe or potentially life-threatening conditions should call 911 or visit the nearest emergency department.
Community Open House
Area residents are invited to attend an Open House on Tuesday, Oct. 14 from 4 to 6 p.m., to meet Dhaliwal and the staff of SRMC Urgent Care- North Jackson. Tours of the new Urgent Care service, giveaways and light refreshments will be available.
