GOSHEN TOWNSHIP–The board of trustees has approved a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) to provide school resource officers to the West Branch School District.

Trustees voted unanimously to approve the MOU during a special meeting Tuesday morning. The new agreement includes verbiage changes for compliance with Ohio Revised Code and increases the term of the agreement to two years, which will see the department continue to provide the district with two resource officers for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 school years. The new agreement will also see an annual 2.5% price increase from the previous SRO contract which had a cost of $110,000 annually, meaning that the department will receive $112,750 for the first year and $115,568 for the second.

The West Branch Board of Education previously approved the new agreement during its Aug. 26 meeting.
