East Palestine celebrates Halloween season

EAST PALESTINE — East Palestine Village Manager Antonio Diaz-Guy has issued a challenge to the residents of East Palestine – to help him transform East Palestine into “Halloweentown, the ultimate Autumn and Halloween destination.”

Diaz-Guy is asking all residents to decorate their “homes, yards, and businesses with lights, scarecrows, pumpkins, and most creative spooky ideas.” Residents are then encouraged to share photos of their finished work with the hashtag #EastPalestineHalloweentown to participate in the community-wide initiative.

Guy wants the town to glow with fall vibes and his words turn East Palestine into “the perfect for photo-ops and family fun.”

Guy’s call to action is just the latest way East Palestine is embracing autumn.

The third annual East Palestine Fall Fest is set for this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The day is intended to support village businesses and welcome the season. The day will include a vendor show featuring local artisans, food trucks, raffles, a town-wide avenger hunt, live music, children activities, shop sales and more.

Other fall events set in East Palestine include the annual Fireman’s Fall Festival, the return of a classic horror movie night, a Halloween Parade and a Halloween story stroll by the East Palestine Library with the story “We’re Off to Find the Witch’s House” during Halloween weekend.

For information on the village fall events, visit the village’s Facebook page or epohio.org website.

Starting at $2.99/week.
