EAST LIVERPOOL — The East Liverpool Calcutta Garden Club recently gathered for its annual picnic at Thompson Park, celebrating fellowship, food, and a love for gardening.
This year’s event welcomed new member Elaine McEndree, who was officially installed during the program. Guest speaker Theda Sanders shared her presentation, “Life as a Gardener,” reflecting on how her passion for gardening blossomed into additional creative hobbies such as painting and quilting.
Members enjoyed a potluck buffet featuring favorite family recipes, adding a warm, homemade touch to the afternoon.
A highlight of the day was a photo taken at the club’s 2021 community project, the Staircase Garden, which continues to showcase the group’s dedication to beautifying local spaces.
Founded in 1944, the East Liverpool Calcutta Garden Club has been active in promoting gardening, education, and community service for more than 80 years.
