Boyce Church men’s breakfast
Boyce Church on Anna Avenue in East Liverpool will host its men’s breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday. Guest speaker will be Pastor Bill Barlow. All men are welcome.
Angels for Animals contest
The Angels for Animals 2026 calendar contest is coming to a close Sept. 27. To support Angels for Animals and share photos of furry friends, enter the contest by visiting gogophotocontest.com/angelsformanimals.
Birds of prey at BCWEC
Volunteers from the Three Rivers Avian Center from Hinton, W.Va, will be at the Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center this coming Sunday, Sept. 28, from 2 to 3 p.m. with some of their birds of prey. The presenters will talk about the birds and tell their stories of how they arrived at the rehabilitation center. The birds will include a raven, a bald eagle, owls, and falcons. Seating is limited so bring a chair or a blanket. Visitors will be able to take pictures and ask questions after the program.
Leaf collection at Lisbon Cemetery
In order to complete leaf collection and removal, the Lisbon Cemetery requires all potted flowers, bouquets, and in-ground decorations be removed by Oct. 1. A fixed saddle can remain on monuments permanently. Items left on the ground after Oct. 1 will be discarded.
Beaver Local yearbooks
The 2025 Beaver Local yearbooks have officially arrived and will be distributed during lunch periods. Graduates from the Class of 2025 who pre-ordered a copy may pick it up in the main office. For those who did not pre-order but would like to purchase a yearbook, they are available for $78. Interested students and families can see Mrs. Hendricks or stop by the main office to secure a copy.
‘Afternoon at the Museum’
The Springfield Township Historical Society continues its “Afternoon at the Museum” program Sunday, Oct. 5 with Barbara Herriott, who will discuss the history of coal mining in Springfield Township, especially the East Fairfield Coal Co. The STHS museum opens at 2 p.m. for this program which is free and open to everyone. The museum is at 14188 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road (state Route 170), Petersburg.
