Dog and cat rabies vaccination
Carol Cowan, East Liverpool City Health Commissioner, announces a City-wide Dog and Cat Rabies Vaccination Clinic to be jointly sponsored by the East Liverpool City Health Department and new owner Dr. Ashley Veine-Smith of Community Animal Clinic in East Liverpool. The event will be held at the front entrance of Westgate School on Saturday from 2 until 4 p.m., rain or shine. All dogs and cats must be either on leashes or contained in some form of carrier and must be at least 3 months of age to be vaccinated. A cash only fee of $10 per animal applies. No advanced reservation or appointments are necessary.
CWC to host ‘The Granny Files’
The Columbiana Women’s Club (CWC), will host “The Granny Files: Insights, Humor & Dementia” with Author Lindsay Clifton at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the clubhouse, 121 N. Main St. Clifton will read excerpts from her book “Middle Fingers of Love: The Granny Files” and provide insights about caring for loved ones with dementia in peace and with humor. Event includes light refreshments and book signing. Space is limited; RSVPs required: 330-692-2099. Cost is $20 per person cash or check only; make checks payable to Columbiana Women’s Club. Books available for purchase for $15 each (portion of books sales benefits Alzheimer’s organizations).
Sign Language classes
The Salem Federation of Women’s Clubs will be American Sign Language classes beginning on Monday, Sept. 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Smucker House. The beginner classes will run for six weeks and be taught by Jackie Mercer, a retired United School teacher. Classes will be $30 for all six classes. Respond with reservation by calling 330-207-6031. This is open to all ages, men and women. Payment for the class can be made at the first class by cash or a check made out to SFWC.
New York City bus trip
The Wellsville Class of 2026 is sponsoring a New York City Redeye Bus trip for the weekend of Dec. 12. The bus will leave Friday, Dec. 12 at 11:30 p.m. from Wellsville High School and return the morning of Dec. 14. The cost is $140 per person and a reservation can be made with a non-refundable deposit of $70. Contact Wellsville High School at 330-532-1188 and speak with Beth Swogger at extension 2109.
