4-hour search in Calcutta area ended with all parties safe

EAST LIVERPOOL — A four-hour search ended with all parties safe Sunday afternoon.

Calcutta fire mobilized their search and rescue time, after being toned out at 12:48 p.m. for a possible missing person from an emergency cell phone detection button.

The department responded with Rescue 32, M38 Ambulance, Brush 32 side-by-side, chief Dave McCoy and K-9 Solace, sending first responder crews into the woods to search the coordinates.

Eventually Chief McCoy made contact with the victim, who admitted she was okay and back at home shortly before 5 p.m.

Rescue crews ask anyone who accidentally hits an emergency button on your phone to always let dispatch know that it was an accident and you are okay.
