Ribbon-cutting set for new Hanover Township Emergency Services Center

HANOVERTON – The Hanover Township Trustees, in partnership with the Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Association Inc., will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the new Hanover Township Emergency Services Center. The event will take place Saturday, Aug. 23, at 9 a.m. at 10133 Chestnut Lane , Hanoverton.

The Hanover Township Trustees will own and operate this $2.5 million facility, which was made possible through the passage of a 3.1-mill levy approved by Hanover Township voters in 2023, a $250,000 State Capitol Budget allocation and the long-standing partnership between the trustees and the Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Association. This modern, shared-use building will serve as the new home for the Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Department, providing an updated, fully equipped space to operate both fire and EMS services for Hanover Township and surrounding communities.

“This new station represents a tremendous step forward for public safety in Hanover Township,” said Fire Chief Frank Baker. “Thanks to the support of our residents and the strong working relationship with the trustees, we now have a modern facility that will allow us to provide enhanced services to our community. Working together, we were able to complete this project within budget. It’s an investment that will benefit our community for decades to come.”

“We are very fortunate to have such a great group of volunteers serving our community,” said Hanover Township Trustee John Zehentbauer. “The Trustees are proud to provide this new facility to both our emergency personnel and the residents of Hanover Township.”

The Hanover Township trustees extend special thanks to J. Herbert Construction, the project’s general contractor, and Tom Madej of Team 8e Architecture, whose expertise and dedication helped bring this facility to life.

The Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Department will begin operations at the new facility on Sept. 1.

The public is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony, tour the facility, and meet the firefighters and EMS personnel who will operate out of the new station.

Starting at $2.99/week.
