Nature+Nurture Maker’s Market set for Saturday

SALEM–The third annual Nature+Nurture Maker’s Market will combine educational displays and handmade items from local vendors downtown Saturday.

This year’s event will be held from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m., coinciding with Freed Fest, the Salem Farm Market, and the Salem High School Alumni Association’s Alumni Weekend downtown.

The market will feature several opportunities to learn about nature including animal pelts and tracks from the Beaver Creek Wildlife Center; birds of prey from Raptor Hallow Sanctuary, and an educational show featuring reptiles and amphibians by Komara Outdoors. New this year, there will also be a walk-in butterfly tent by Beech Creek Botanical Gardens and Nature Preserve, and butterfly selfie stations and a fairy scavenger hunt by Hitting the Highway with Hannah.

On Target Canfield will be returning with free archery in the Ohio Department of Natural Resources truck and the Studio of Fine Arts by Anissa DiLeo will have an art area for kids featuring mural painting and a take-home surprise. Like in years past, the market will feature live music in the Nature+Nurture alcove by Bearcat Acoustic Humbles County and Danny McMaster.

As always, the event will also feature “kidpreneurs” and favorite Nature+Nurture vendors including: La Petite Crochet LLC, Wild Roots & Muddy Boots, Olive & Ivy Boutique, Lavender House, Red Lightning Custom Woodworking, Magnolia & Co. Vintage, Bull Creek Farm & Market LLC, Wild Roots Soap Co. LLC and more.

Starting at $2.99/week.
