Fletcher announces candidacy for Columbiana School Board

COLUMBIANA–Dylan Fletcher, a graduate of Columbiana High School and current business administration student at Kent State University, has announced his candidacy for the Columbiana Exempted Village School District Board of Education.

Fletcher, a lifelong resident of Columbiana, is running a campaign focused on collaboration, decision-making, and investing in the long-term success of students and the community.

“I’m running because I care deeply about the future of Columbiana’s schools,” Fletcher said. “As someone who has experienced our district firsthand — and who’s now studying leadership and business strategy — I bring a fresh, practical perspective. I believe in working with our educators, administrators, and students to promote real, positive growth.”

Fletcher currently serves on the City of Columbiana Planning Commission, where he contributes to local policy and long-term planning. He also serves as a volunteer leader at Greenford Christian Church’s Boardman Campus, supporting youth programs and community outreach.

According to a release, his campaign emphasizes responsible budgeting, enhancing student life, and constructive collaboration at every level of the district.

“We need to be responsible with spending while still investing in what matters most — student wellbeing, innovative learning environments, and a strong future for our schools,” Fletcher added. “My goal is to be a thoughtful, solutions-focused voice on the board, rooted in both community values and smart planning.”

If elected, Fletcher hopes to help ensure Columbiana schools remain strong, student-centered, and future-ready — guided by transparency, fiscal responsibility, and a commitment to opportunity for all.
