Rummage Sale Sept. 11-13
The New Garden Methodist Church, 7165 state Route 9, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 11 and 12 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 13. Fill a large bag for $5, and there will be a free hot dogs and drinks from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 11 and 12 and 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 13. Donations will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays through Sept. 6; no electronics, TVs or exercise equipment. For information call 330-853-0737.
Covered dish dinner
Members of Loyal Christian Benevolent Association (LCBA) Branch 654 will hold a covered dish dinner after the business meeting scheduled for Thursday, Sept.4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Salem Senior Housing Club House, 996 W. Perry St. Members are reminded to bring their own table service and a covered dish to share. The refreshment committee is Carole Rea and Mary Walker. The agenda includes a report of the Trunk to Treasure and Bake Sale held in June and plans for future projects. New members and guests are welcome.
Idabelle free concert series
Talented local performers will debut the third season of the Idabelle Firestone free concert series at the Harvey S Firestone Recreational Park on Sunday, Aug. 31, at 3 p.m. at the Idabelle Firestone gathering place and garden, the hilltop outdoor amphitheater built to honor her musical talents and beautiful gardens. The Oak Street string band, the Keller family singers, and Sassa brass will entertain visitors in the park. Shuttle service will be provided from the parking lot at the main entrance to the park to the hilltop venue. Covered seating is arranged and visitors may also bring blankets and chairs. The free fall concerts will continue every Sunday at 3 p.m. through September at the park. Watch for signs throughout the community for future performers The free concert series is being sponsored by the Firestone Park, Custodial and Custodial committee, a 501(c)(3) organization. Rain venue is Grace Church on South Main. Directional signs will tell you where the concert will be held in the event of inclement weather.
Tri-State Coon Club
The Tri-State Coon Club will be hosting .22 caliber shoots on Tuesday, Sept. 2 and Sept. 16 on their range at 2601 Irish Ridge Road in East Liverpool. The shoots will start at 6 p.m. For information, call or text 330-708-0810.
Writers’ Group Sept. 6
Writers’ Group at Lepper Library will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 6. Fellow writers gather together and discuss writing, publishing, and grammar. To receive critiques, submit five pages a week in advance to dolly@lepperlibrary.org. Brought in part by the OAC.
