ELHS Class of 1980 reunion
The East Liverpool High School Class of 1980 is having its 45th reunion the weekend of Sept. 26. More than 50 classmates have already registered. Events include attending the ELHS Friday night football game, a Saturday dinner at the downtown East Liverpool Elks Club and more. Family Remembrance Day
The Historical Society of Columbiana and Fairfield Township, along with American Legion Unit 290, invites the public to a special program in honor of National Gold Star Moms and Family Remembrance Day on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Veterans War Memorial, located in the Columbiana Cemetery. The history of the Veterans War Memorial, the 25 veterans etched into stone, and the stories of their service will be the subject of the program. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. A free-will donation will be taken to benefit Columbiana Cemetery Wreaths Across America. Everyone is invited to bring a photo of their military veteran buried in Columbiana for the Historical Society to scan, edit and use at the grave during the laying of the wreaths, Saturday, Dec. 13, at noon. Legion Auxiliary Unit 188
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 188 in East Liverpool has their first meeting Saturday, Sept. 6 at 11 a.m. upstairs. Newly elected officers are: President Sue Collins, 1st Vice Alice Bigelow, Secretary Kathy Minton, Treasurer Rose Garlic, Chaplain Marty Davis, Historian Kathy Minton and Sgt at Arms Connie Brown. The organization is busy working on Auxiliary projects such as the community, homeless veterans and members donate to the VA Hospital and support women Veterans.
